Out little baby is now a whole 2 months old! She is growing so fast (even though she still looks so small). We are so happy that she is healthy and all but we know that we are going to miss her being this small sooner than we would like. We are trying to enjoy every minute that we have with her whether it is good and happy, messy and stinky, or wet with tears. Here are some more pictures of our little princess.
I wish the lighting was better on this picture but she really likes to play with us and gets the biggest smiles sometimes.
One morning tradition has been Mommy and Baby taking a morning nap together. Often times it is like this where the two are sleeping together on the floor. Justine likes to just watch Jane while she sleeps.
We are trying to teach Jane about different things already. This is Jane looking at pictures of herself that we printed off for her Uncle Levi in Georgia. We have been reading her stories from Disney story books as well as some from the Book of Mormon (Justine is a really good gospel teacher). Next on our list of things to teach her is who Jesus is and what he looks like (although I bet she could teach us more about our Savior than we could teach her right now).
If you remember the pictures from a previous post, there was one that made Jane look like a Catholic Pope. The hat was so big on her that it looked more like mitre than a beanie for a baby. Well, her head has grown enough that it now resembles a beanie instead of a piece of religious symbolism!
One of the cutest things Jane does happens right when she is waking up from a nap and is finally unwrapped. If you wake her up from her nap gently and then unwrap her, she absolutely LOVES to stretch out! She puts her arms high above her head, stretches her little legs out as far as she can and kind of arches her back. She is so happy when she gets to do this! Not to mention that it is so adorable. The look on her face just melts your heart!
Jane started her life by hating the bath tub. She would scream and scream until she had clothes on again. Well, that has changed too! Jane now loves the bath tub! She loves to splash around in the water with her legs. She really likes warm water dumped on her belly, legs, and arms too. Just this last week she learned a new bath time trick too. She now will take her legs and rub it back and forth against the dark pink foam and make squeaking noises with it. She gets a big smile on her face and starts cooing at us. This all ends of course once we take her out of the tub. The worst thing in the world to Jane (perhaps even worse than starving right before feeding time) is to be lotioned all over her body. No matter how you put it on, she hates that and will scream until you pick her up again with her clothes on.
Of course, we just love kissing our little girl every chance we get.
She has brought so much more than we ever imagined into our lives. The past two months have gone by so fast. We are grateful for the opportunity that all three of us were able to be home all the time to play with Jane and watch her grow. It is a blessing that not many people get and we will relish the time that we have been able to devote solely to the most precious part of our lives.
She really is adorable! Did I ever tell you that if Owen had been a girl we were going to name her Jane. I just love the name, it is the cutest!!
