Happy Easter!

This weekend marks the special time of year where we celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God. It is wonderful to know that he lived and died so that we might live with our Heavenly Father once again.

Before we came to this earth, we were in God's presence. He presented His plan to us for our salvation. God sent us here to earth to be tested that we might prove ourselves worthy of His gift to us, that of Eternal Life. By the mere fact that we are here living on Earth indicates that we chose then, at that time, to follow Him. Our Father gave to us His Son as a sacrifice for our sins so that we could repent and renew ourselves daily to follow Him. Jesus Christ suffered every pain and affliction in the Garden of Gethsemane so that he would know how to succor us in our times of pain and affliction. He paid the price for our sins so that we wouldn't have to suffer by being separated from our Heavenly Father forever. The next day, what is now known as "Good Friday," He was condemned to die by crucifixion, though guiltless. He willing took up His cross and gave his life on Calvary. His life was one that was unblemished by sin, yet in his mercy, he accepted the will of the Father and performed that great vicarious sacrifice for us. From Friday to Sunday morning, his body lay in the tomb. Yet, this we know is not the end for our Savior. On Sunday morning, he arose from the dead and came forth triumphantly. The Christ had been resurrected. Because of His resurrection, we have all been granted the same gift. One day, we all will be resurrected and receive a perfect body of flesh and bones.

The thing we need to make sure is that we are worthy of the other blessings that God has in store for us. He has promised us not only life eternal, but everything He has. He will give us all if we will but obey His commandments while in this life and serve Him with all our heart and mind. It is such a small thing to give up for such a grand prize. It is our wish this weekend that everyone will reconsider where they are on this path and recommit themselves to the plan that they chose before they were sent here to Earth. Jesus Christ lives. He atoned for our sins so that we can repent and become clean and pure. He was resurrected and now offers that gift freely to all who pass from this life. He is our Lord and Savior and He loves us!

Happy Easter everyone!
