Christmas

Christmas this year came, but noticeably missing a few things. Namely Justine's Dad and brother (Joe and Michael) who are away serving our country. Despite not having all the family together, we still managed to have a very enjoyable Christmas with both sides of our families. We spent most of the week before Christmas with the Moulton family. Christmas eve brought the opportunity to Skype with both Joe and Michael and watch them open their gifts. The plan was to be able to read aloud together from Luke 2 over the internet. Unfortunately we lost our connection with them and ended up reading it on our own by the light of the Christmas tree.

Christmas morning, everyone got up nice and early (for adults at least) and opened our stockings and gifts. It was a good morning for all of us.

Athena was really tired because she had flown the day before, missed her nap, and was kept up late with all the parties. She enjoyed her toys, but didn't care too much for unwrapping them.

After we were done opening gifts, we went over to Grandma Knights for biscuits and gravy, followed by a sort of brunch put on by Justine's family shortly thereafter. We followed all that up with a nice little nap.

The afternoon brought some fun times up the canyon sledding. We went half way up little cottonwood canyon to a spot off the side of the road. There were plenty of people and the snow was packed pretty hard. We came home with a few battle wounds, but we had a heck of a lot of fun getting them!
