Over Thanksgiving break, we had the opportunity to spend time with our relatives from Washington. It's a long story of why we even got to see them. I won't go the reasons why at all, but suffice it to say, it was a long journey for those involved. Justine's mom bought a plane ticket for Justine to fly up to Spokane and drive down from Washington with her sister and our niece. They drove right along with the storm that came through right before Thanksgiving making what is 13 hour drive last 3 days! We're grateful that they made it back down here safe. The second day of the trip was our niece's birthday. She spent her entire first birthday in a car seat. Poor Athena. I hear she did pretty good considering. The big story behind their trip was the passenger side window. They rolled it down to fix the side mirror but unfortunately that was the last time it would work properly. They drove the majority of the way from Washington to Utah without a window! Keep in mind that after the storm passed through, so did a bad cold front that put temps in the single digits! They all kept good attitudes about the whole thing and look back on it as being a fun trip.
So enough of the babbling and set up. Time for the fun part, pictures!
This is Athena with her Utah friends, G1 and G2 after the party.
Athena got a lot of cool presents, including this cute ballerina outfit.
One of Athena's favorite toys was this little bike thing. It can convert to something she can push along behind. At first she hated sitting on it like she is in the picture, but after Uncle Daniel pushed her along making sound effects and everything, she didn't want to get off for very long.
Finally a goofy picture. Athena was a ton of fun to play with which is a big change from the last time we saw her. We're excited to get to play with her again at Christmas time, assuming nothing has changed in plans.
