We had another exciting weekend. And since it was the fourth, it was an extra long exciting weekend. Here are just a few of the things we worked on and did over the long holiday weekend.

Friday night we had a family bbq and watched the fireworks from Chris' grandparent's house. It was a lot of fun to be around extended family that we don't get to see as much. The fireworks were the best we saw all year long! Not saying much there since we live in Utah.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed down to WJ for a little family action with the Moulton's. Chris went golfing while Justine went to Raging Waters (Utah's beach supposedly). Both of us got really sunburnt. Nuf sed. We got back from those activities and had another bbq, this time at the Davis' house (pretty much adopted aunt and uncle). It was a lot of fun. We did some fireworks there before heading home to go to bed.

Sunday afternoon we had a real family bbq (sorry no pix). We did pork chops this time. Good food all around. Daniel and Chris made up a simple yet entertaining game (at least to them) tossing aluminum foil into a metal bowl and keeping score. We did a little bit of fireworks that evening while the fire marshal drove past just as we were lighting some in a pvc pipe. Ooops! Not recommended. We didn't get in any trouble though thank goodness.

Now for the exciting part. Not that that was all boring, but this is long term exciting! See the following pictures for what I mean:
This is a picture of after we ripped up the carpet in the living room/entrance to the Moulton home.
This laminate is what it will eventually look like all throughout the front entry way, if it hasn't already been finished by now. It's a tile look if you can't tell from this picture with tons of glare.
This is Justine's pride and joy! Okay, well, it may not be that extreme. We put up this wainscoat in the newly remodeled bathroom after cleaning up the tools and debris that was still lying around.
This is what the nearly finished mirror looks like. It is really encouraging to see this project in the waning stages of completion. Joe has done such a great job getting this remodeling done with the time he has before he leaves for the sand box. He has been patient with us asking questions about how to do what he is doing and has been so good at teaching and showing us how to do these small and simple home repair tasks. He's amazing superman! There's nothing you can't do! We love you!
