Our first major purchase: a car

Many people who know us, know also that we drive an old Geo Metro that has 186 k miles on it and eats through more oil than any car should. Don't get us wrong, there are many perks to driving the smallest car on the road. Great gas mileage (41 mpg in town and up to 45 or so highway miles) and really cheap car insurance (let's face it, if you're in a wreck, your car is worth $300 and will do no damage whatsoever to the other person's $15,000 civic). We loved our car of one year. We just wish we had a couple pictures that we could post here to prove how amazing of a car it is.

Either way, our car crapped out on us twice within the last month. The first time, it died in our drive way. We went to start it one morning and it just wouldn't turn over. We knew it was coming though. We were going to be going to Salt Lake to get help from Justine's dad that night. We ended up replacing the fuel filter and getting it back in shape.

Next problem came on our way back from Salt Lake after our anniversary and birthday outing. It started pouring out smoke from the tailpipe. We turned around at about Hill Air Force Base and headed back to Salt Lake. Justine's mom offered to let us borrow her car until we could figure something out.

We did figure something out. This is what we figured out:
We bought a new car. Ok, so it's not new, just new to us. It's an '01 Saturn SL2. It has only 68 k miles on it (120 k less than the Geo). It was right in our price range too. We found it at the car wars sale here in Logan this last Thursday.

We will miss our little Geo.
