Last week we went over to the Mormon Trail Center and the Winter Quarters Temple with Chris' family. We wanted to do a session and the girls wanted to do baptisms for the dead.
We started out at the Mormon Trail Center. While there we watched a video about the Mormon pioneers. In the movie it talked about how the pioneers traveled over 1000 miles to get to SLC from Winter Quarters. These people had no idea what to expect at the end. The only thing that they knew was that it was the place that God wanted them to go. As we were watching the movie so many thoughts came into my head. I thought about how my ancestors were some of the pioneers that crossed the plains on the same path. They traveled all of those miles to do what the Lord commanded them to do. I thought about how Chris and I had just traveled about 1000 miles (in the other direction). We don't know what is in store for us while we are here. I don't know the full extent of why we are in Omaha when there are other schools closer to home. But we do know that this is where we need to be and that we were sent here for a purpose. We don't have to know the reasons right now, or at all. We just have to have faith that we are doing what is right.
Gird up your loins. Fresh courage take. Our God will never us forsake.
After eating lunch at a local restaurant. We came back to the visitors center changed our clothes and went to the temple. We tried to plan it so the Racheal and Brianna could be done around the same time as the session. It worked out pretty good.
The Temple is so beautiful. It is MUCH smaller than what I am used to but we accomplish the same thing in each temple. We loved doing a session with family there.
