Time for an April update

It's been almost a month since we have provided an update to our followers so here is a bone.
Now that you have had a satisfying chew of the bone our dog would fight you for (if we had a dog), I can move on with the goods.

In the last month, we have been hard at work getting things moving forward for our big move to Omaha. Most importantly, we have found our housing for the next four, and possibly five years.

The front living room. The couch and end tables will be ours, the other decorations will be moving out with the current tenant.

The kitchen. Rather large and convenient when you consider our fist two kitchens. The dishwasher is the biggest downside to the kitchen in that it is a floating dishwasher. It would be nice if it was anchored in under the counter space. A few of the best perks for us include the full size gas range and the plethora of cupboards. The most we have had up to this point is about the size above the stove a fridge in this picture.

This is the master bedroom. It is fairly spacious. This is up on the upper floor. The entire place has original hardwood flooring that is still in pretty good condition. We personally would rather have carpet, but there were other features that were more important to us in the end (like a basement)
There is a second bedroom on the same floor as the master which will be for when we have kids. We will also probably be installing some ceiling fans in these upper bedrooms for the summers.

Finally here is the recently refinished bathroom. It isn't huge and it isn't the nicest bathroom we have ever seen, but it sure is bigger and nicer than the bathroom we have right now.

Now, when you consider all of this will be bought by us (a special thanks to Chris' parents for helping us get into this home) all at a price that is cheaper than rent would be for the four years we will be in Omaha, I would say we are getting a killer deal. All in all we are looking forward a lot to moving into a place of our own in a new town where we can make new friends and meet lots of new people. It will also be a great opportunity for us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around us.

  1. How exciting!! It looks like an awesome apartment! We are so excited (and jealous) that you get to be out in the mission field...hopefully we'll join you soon :)

P.S. What are you going to do with your couch? Didn't you guys just buy one? I like the one the tenants are leaving though!

  4. We will be taking our couches that we just bought with us too. We will probably be doing some rearranging with things a few times before we get it nailed down.
